APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVES DIRECTORS (2 POSTS) and ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – HOUSING
Thank you for your interest in these roles at Chesterfield Borough Council.
Chesterfield has a good reputation in local government as a council that punches above its weight in terms of the quality of services we deliver and particularly our track record in delivering inclusive economic growth through working in partnership with investors, developers and local enterprise partnerships.
We are a council and borough with big ambitions and nationally significant regeneration schemes. Our £1 billion programme includes our own Northern Gateway development. We are a partner in the £340m Chesterfield Waterside scheme and currently exploring the feasibility of co-investing in the £400m Peak Resort project.
Our vision is simple – ’Putting our communities first’ – we want to ensure our residents share in the benefits of Chesterfield’s success and enjoy healthy and active lives; and our businesses reach their full potential. That’s why over the next four years our Council Plan and our collective effort will be focused on:
- Making Chesterfield a thriving borough
- Improving the quality of life for local people
- Providing value for money services
While the council is financially robust action is already underway to manage medium term budgets, be more commercial to drive income and more efficient in our use of buildings. Aligned to these changes is a £9 million investment in ICT infrastructure and services that will upgrade the experience for customers and staff alike.
Our two new Executive Directors will form a key part of our Senior Leadership Team alongside the Chief Executive and Director of Finance and Resources. And the Assistant Director – Housing a key part of our Corporate Management Team alongside 5 other Assistant Directors.
We are looking for candidates with a strong and demonstrable track record of achievement in respect of strategic and operational outcomes, the stature and capability to manage within a complex political and stakeholder environment, commercial acumen and the ability to build momentum and maintain pace in the face of conflicting and competing priorities and challenges.
If you share our passion and ambition, we look forward to hearing from you.
